2. PLAN OF ACTION 2010-2011 Theta Alpha chapter has the opportunity to utilize our successful social action programs to push our overall goals to another level. This proposal will show how a 12 month calendar of programmatic partnerships can help us reach our stated objective of improving the quality of life for Black Americans. Roderick Cohen for Basileus

3. PLAN OF ACTION 2010-2011 I would like to suggest a 12 month calendar divided into four (4) themes, one for each of our Founders: These four themes would include Economic Development, Health Awareness, Political Literacy,and Educational Advancement. Roderick Cohen for Basileus

4. PLAN OF ACTION 2010-2011 We would plan related activities in 3 month themes around each of these points. What we have to offer is access to minority communities that other agencies/organizations find difficult to mobilize and serve. The requirement on our part is that each Brother recognize and accept their unique role in making these program work. Roderick Cohen for Basileus

5. Action Plan-Health Awareness November 2010- Nutritional awareness workshop/community health screenings with pledges to prepare healthy Thanksgiving meals. December 2010-Hypertension/Diabetes/Cancer awareness forum, with presentations from physicians, insurance companies, and community leaders January 2011-State Farm 50 million pound challenge, offered as a competition with other chapters in the North Texas area Roderick Cohen for Basileus

Action Plan-Economics February 2011- Financial Freedom Workshop, including debt reduction information, personalized financial planning, and economic literacy March 2011-Grantwriting and nonprofit development seminar, including step by step instruction on establishing a 501 ©3 and public and private grant development and fundraising April 2011- Tax preparation assistance and investment club forum Roderick Cohen for Basileus

7. Action Plan-Politics May 2011- voter registration drive at Dallas area high schools, registering seniors before graduation/voter education strategies June 2011-public forum for candidates for local, state, and federal offices, with information seminar for those who may be interested in running in future elections. July 2011- In honor of the centennial celebration, we will host a local reception for those Brothers who will be able to make the trip to DC and the community at large. 8. Action Plan-Education August 2011-a back to school supply drive with motivational speakers September 2011- College preparation workshop incorporating standardized test preparation and scholarship planning, and a special workshop for student-athletes October 2011- A “Salute to Teachers” reception with a “Kincade Award” to a male teacher making a difference in the lives of their students. 9. Action Plan 2011-2011 What is unique about this program is that ALL 12 programs will be done in concert with any and all organizations willing to support our causes with their resources. The purpose is to establish our credibility in fundraising/grantwriting circles in order that we can utilize our foundation to apply for funds to reinvigorate our community. Action Plan 2010-2011 These events will not supplant any of our mandated programs, and will give our public relations officers the opportunity to make announcements well in advance of these events. Furthermore, we will be able to call smaller segments of the chapter to lead during the three month window that best matches their passions and professional experiences. Roderick Cohen for Basileus
