Why is Chief Seattle important to Seattle?
Chief Seattle is very important to Seattle. He was just a young boy in 1780 when he saw Captain Vancouver’s ship. His father’s name was Shweabe, and his mother’s name was Sholeetsa. Chief Seattle’s native language is Lushootseed. He led the Duwamish and Suquamish tribes’ as the first Euro-American settlers came in the 1850’s.

Chief Seattle’s Achievements.
Chief Seattle is very important to the growth of Seattle . He helped a lot of people and saved lives. He made Medisins and other important stuff.

The last years of Chief Seattle’s life.
The last years of Chief Seattle’s life were lived on the port Madison reservation, he died on June 7, 1866 and was buried after both Catholic and Salish Ceremonies.

Princess Angeline Princess Angeline was important to Seattle so they put her picture on a souvenir. She made peace and found out ways to save people’s lives. She lived in a cottage at the foot of Pike and Pine street. She was the oldest daughter of Chief Seattle. She was married to DokubCud.

Princess Angeline in old age
In old age she sold clams on the corners of the city. She was named Princess Angeline by Catherine Maynard.

When she died. On May 31st 1896 Suquamish Princess Aneline died at the age of 76, in her water front shack.

Were she was buried. She was buried by her friend Henry Yesler, at Lake ViewCemertery.
