INTRODUCTION This Multicultural Picture File will be used to teach a variety of linguistic concepts such as numbers, shapes, and colors. The object the child/children need to focus on in each question is bolded so that it can be easily identified. The pictures used in this file relate to a typical child’s life with birthday parties, zoos, and building blocks. These are all objects and events a child can draw prior knowledge from in order to assist them in learning new aspects of the language. These picture files are aimed at students who are at level 1 and are acquiring tier 1 vocabulary.

The next set of pictures focus on learning colors. For this concept the child/children must choose the correct color from the word bank at the bottom. This can be done individually, as a small group, or with the entire class. This set of pictures are at level 1.
