SUMMARY ANALYSIS QUESTIONNAIRE JAN.2015 270 Students filled in the questionnaire over a school population of about 1165 students Most of them are boys and the number of girls is very low, this is because our school is a tech one with a specialized programme in Mechanics- Mechatronics- Energy, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology and Telecommunication, Transports and Logistics, Lyceum of Applied Sciences less than 50% are single income families, their cultural background is not up to the expected standard, more than 50% educational status is obligatory education There is a high rate of school failure. 20% The relationships between students and teacher need to be better. The good teacher ‘s qualities concerns the teacher’s methodology and, at the same time, the interest of the teachers in the student as person and the student’s need to be praised that students prefer using technology, working with classmates in classroom activities and learning by doing practical activities. Students think that having a school offering better facilities could motivate them to learn more and better, they also believe that a better distribution of the lessons in each day may help. It means that they probably are not sufficiently satisfied with school equipments and the interior of their classrooms, this explains their lack of care for the walls, the desks and the school environment in general

The students are interested in the talent development and in the technical equipment of teaching more than in extra lessons and in the preparation of teachers, so they prefer practical strategies. Bad atmosphere in class and discipline seem to be the biggest problems together with lack of tolerance and adaptability, this means that character and temperament aspects during the age of development need great consideration in order to prevent behavioural problems. Students want to follow their interests mostly but the most pragmatic ones think that it is more important to take into consideration what the job market requires. It is interesting to notice how weak is the consideration of the students for the teachers’ ability to steer their professional /working choices they prefer information from professionals The high rate of positive answers (Have you ever considered dropping out of school?) clearly highlights the importance of this project in order to prevent the dropping out from school and to act out all the strategies to promote the success at school. …Only 2 students gave reasons they are not aware of the reasons that let them consider dropping out I’m a student who…….. The results clearly show that student need to develop self-confidence, self-esteem The students are interested in sports and in travelling and visiting places of interest The results of this survey straighten our belief that this project will help our school to foster equity and inclusion in education, to enable quality learning for all, to prevent drop-out and promote participation of disadvantaged groups in society in a long-term programme
