2 Unit (1) Introduction To Learning and Teaching Goal: Understand the principles of learning and teaching process in order to act as an effective facilitator in achievement of group tasks. Objectives 1.1. Appreciate importance of learning and teaching in nursing profession. 1.2. Motivate students through identify their learning style. 1.3. 3 Glossary for teaching and learning

4 Academic program A series of courses that have both theoretical and practical components and are designed to prepare students as a specific category of healthcare provider. Academic programs typically involve several years of study, allowing time and opportunities for students to develop essential competencies that encompass essential knowledge, skills, values, and behaviors.

5 Syllabus: The design document for a course, providing a summary of all the basic information about a course (e.g.. course objectives, student assessment methods).

6 Teaching Transferring or conveying knowledge, skills, and attitudes. Teaching usually refers to instruction provided through classroom activities and is often associated with preserves education programs.

7 Learning Life-long process of acquiring new knowledge, skills, and attitudes, it may occur formally during a learning event or informally during personal reading or study..

8 Active Learning: A communication technique that helps stimulate open and frank exploration of ideas and feelings and establish trust with students.

9 Clinical learning Clinical practice: A learning method, essential for developing healthcare delivery skills, that allows students to practice skills in the clinic. Clinical practice helps prepare students for the roles and responsibilities they will hold in their profession. It provides opportunities to integrate knowledge, skills, and attitudes.

10 Clinical learning Clinical Simulation: A simulation that presents the learner with a carefully planned, real or hypothetical patient management situation. Clinical simulations are an excellent method for developing cognitive or clinical decision- making skills.
