3 National Grandparents Day This day is a secular holiday celebrated in the United States since 1978 One celebrates both paternal and maternal grandparents

4 Grandparents day is similar to a Mother's Day This day is also known in Italy, Poland, Germany and many other countries

5 Hobbies Painting Crosswords Sitting by the window while it rains Reading lots of books Playing Solitaire on the computer Playing card games like Skip-bo or other games like Scrabble and Boggle

6 Relationship in a family Grandparents are important for children in many ways. They have patience and time, when parents often are busy. They have stories to tell and interesting games to play.

7 Sometimes the birth of a grandchild strengthens family relationships. Grandparents can be a source of good advice, a huge practical help and a useful extra source of love and attention for your children.

8 Diseases The age also brings a lot of illness with it. For example: Alzheimer Heart disease Different cancers Whooping cough Is the most common form of dementia. There is no cure for the disease, which worsens as it progresses, and eventually leads to death.

9 Nursing home The children of the parents can no longer take care of them, so they send the parents into a nursing home. However, the retirement home begs many activities. The parents are not alone, because there are several old people.
