NatureSDIplus 4 Bertiz is located in the Atlantic Valleys of Navarra’s Mountain region. It is a unique spot. Its outstanding beauty, the presence of the forest animals corresponding to a mature wood and its great naturalness led to its being declared a Natural Park in 1984 Image jun-2006

NatureSDIplus 5 Its natural values: The climate is Ocean (rainfall > 2,000 l/m 2 ). Many days with fog The forests presents a high degree of naturalness, dominating the beech. There are also oak grove and on the banks of the stream, the alders. The good state of conservation allows the existence of an abundant and diverse fauna representative of the Atlantic forests with presence of certain rare species characteristic of mature forests

NatureSDIplus 7 Other information Bertiz has been for most of its long history a private estate The first reference owned Lordship dates back to 1392 In 1949 the last owner bequeathed the Lordship and in his name to the Provincial Council, with the need to preserve it without changing its characteristics The Natural Park has had its ‘Q’ Mark for Tourism Quality renewed. 44 km from Pamplona Surface: 2,052 hectares Altitude: min. 138 m / max. 822 meters Slope average: 39 %
