Vocabulary Set # 4 1. Segment – n. a separate piece of something; a part. Segment – v. to separate into parts. 2. Hind – adj. behind. 3.Diverse – adj. many different. Diversity – n. having many different members. 4.Variety – n. diversity. Vary – v. to make differences to show changes. 5. Exoskeleton – n. a shell or covering outside an insect. 6. Protect – v. to keep safe. Protection – n. safety. 7.Mimic – v. to copy other’s characteristics or behaviors. Mimicry – n. an act of copying. 8. Pollinate – v. to carry pollen from male to female part of flower. 9. Decompose – v. to break down into smaller chemical parts. 10. Pest – n. an animal or insect that causes problems for people, especially by damaging crops, vegetables, and fruits.

1. Segment n. ( علاقے ) n. a separate piece of something; a part. The railway tracks are divided into segments.

Segment v. v. to separate into parts. I segmented all my quizzes in my three different folders.

Hind adj. ( پیچھے ) adj. behind. The hinds limb enable horse to jump high.

Diverse ( مختلف قسم کے ) adj. many different. Every country is made of diverse culture.

Diversity n. ( تغیرات ) n. having many different members. There is a lot of diversity in my class.

Variety n. ( قسم ) n. diversity. There is variety of ways people can travel.

Vary v. ( مختلف ) v. to make differences to show changes. I tried to vary my diet by eating different kinds of food.

Exoskeleton ( ایک کیڑے سے باہرڈھکنے ) n. a shell or covering outside an insect. The exoskeleton in the insects protects their internal structures of body.

Protect v. ( کی حفاظت ) v. to keep safe. The police officer plays an important role to protect people from accident.

Protection n. ( حفاظت ) n. safety. Many government officers needs protection as their life are at risk.

Mimic v. ( ملتے جلتے ) v. to copy other’s characteristics or behaviors. The children mimic their parent’s action as they grow.

Mimicry n. ( نقل ) n. an act of copying. The mimicry of the mockingbird is well known.

Pollinate v. ( جرگ چھڑکنا ) v. to carry pollen from male to female part of flower. The butterflies helps plants to pollinate.

Decompose v. ( گلنا ) v. to break down into smaller chemical parts. After the dead body has been buried for a long time it begins to decompose.

Pest v. ( کیڑے ) n. an animal or insect that causes problems for people. The pest damaged her new beautiful dress.
