1 Taking Daily Attendance Using the TAM Revised: May 28, 2008 Developed by: Jennifer Jenkins, Cabarrus County Schools

2 Teacher Assistant Module (TAM) Teachers at multiple schools will see a Select Teacher Screen. They can identify who they are and select what school they are working in. Using the mouse select the school and click OK button. Possible Screen

3 Teacher Assistant Module (TAM) 1.Open an Internet Browser & go to the NC Wise website >> http://esis.ncwise.org 2.Login to the Teacher Assistant Module (TAM) Enter Username Password Database 3.After login, the user may see the Class Change Notification screen. Read the list then click the Check All button and click OK.

4 Teacher Assistant Module (TAM) The Class Changes Notification Screen appears in front of the TAM start screen. This screen displays any additions or withdrawals from your class. Check the Check All button and then click OK. This screen will no longer appear. Next time you see this screen, it will show any changes in your class rosters.

5 Step 1: Click Homerooms radio button, Select Semester Step 2: Click the AC (Attendance Completed) box. Step 3: Click the DOOR (Exit) button to Exit and Logout of TAM. Teacher Assistant Module (TAM) At the TAM Start Screen… All Students Present & On Time

6 Step 1: Click Homerooms radio button & select the Semester. Step 2: Click the List Button In the My Classes, Attendance section. Teacher Assistant Module (TAM) At the TAM Start Screen… Student Is Absent

7 Step 3: The Daily Att Homeroom Class Entry screen opens. Step 4: Place a check in the A box in the same row as the absent student Pupil No. & Student Name. Step 5: Select a Reason for the absence. Use the mouse and open the list of reasons. Select a reason for the absence. Step 6: Place a check in the Attendance Completed box at the bottom of the screen. Step 7: Click the Diskette button to SAVE. Teacher Assistant Module (TAM) Step 8: Click the DOOR button to Exit the Daily Attendance screen. Step 9: Click the DOOR button again to Exit the TAM.

8 When you are ready to stop working in the TAM and logout… DO NOT click the X in the top right of window (PC). DO NOT click the X in the top left of window (MAC). Exiting Teacher Assistant Alert Box. Click OK. Close the Internet Browser. Use the DOOR ICON to EXIT.

11 Teacher Assistant Module (TAM) Step 4: The Daily Att-Homeroom Class Entry screen opens. Step 5: Change the date. Click the Date button. Daily Att-Homeroom Class Entry Screen

12 Teacher Assistant Module (TAM) Step 6: The change date box opens. Single click on the Plus button. Step 7: The Calendar box will open to select an Attendance Date. Step 8: Use the mouse & select a date. Step 9: Click the OK button.

13 Teacher Assistant Module (TAM) Step 10: The calendar box will disappear and the new date is listed in the Change Date screen. Step 11: Click the OK button. Step 12: The Change Attendance Date screen disappears and you should be at the Daily Att. –Homeroom Class Entry screen.

14 Step 13: Place a check mark in the A (Absent) or L (Late) box. Step 14: Use the drop down menu to select a reason. Step 15: Place a check mark in the Attendance Completed box. Step 16: Click the SAVE button. Step 17: Click the DOOR to EXIT. Step 18: Click the DOOR button again to EXIT the TAM. Teacher Assistant Module (TAM)
