2. Summary
The Invention of Hugo Cabret is about a boy named Hugo who lives in the walls of a train station. Every day he tried to fix an invention that he father drew in his notebook. He had to find parts for the automaton (the invention). Hugo is an orphan, clock keeper, and thief. At the toy booth he is caught for steeling many pieces.  One day Hugo meets a girl named Isabelle.  They become friends and hide things they know.  A stolen necklace becomes a key that makes a drawling.  His dreams had been simple.  She became a trusted friend and helped him in the fulfill his dreams.

3. About the Author
Brian Selznick was born in 1966 in New Jersey. He has a sister and a brother. Five nephews and one niece. He had studied at Rhode Island School of Design.
