Let’s Get Down to Family Business…. O 1947: men = 23.7 women = 20.5 (average age) O 1952: men = 23.0 women = 20.2 O By 1959, the average bride was under 19! O After the Korean war, 17,000 Koreans immigrated to the US—usually as brides and children of soldiers

Women… O Often married right out of high school O Went to college to find a husband often didn’t graduate college O Stay-at-home moms (is really a full time job)
