The Forbidden CityThe Forbidden City, located in the heart of Beijing, China was the home of the emperors. Now known as the Palace Museum, it is to the north of Tiananmen Square. School Days in China Start in September, and go for 9 months (the same as you!) They wear uniforms Vacations in October and May Children attend school for at least 9 years Parents must pay a small fee for books, food and heat

Tradition: Tiger Hats for Newborn Babies When babies are born in China they are given a red Tiger hat to wear. The Tiger hat is meant to keep away evil spirits and to bring them good luck. The hat is made of fancy silk.
