What is Deforestation Deforestation is the destruction of natural forest to serve another purpose Increase of human population causes more land to be destroyed This effects the all stages of living species making some go endangered. This also effects the tribal people that rely on the natural resources.

This can be natural or accidental. Wildfire can prevent the growth of young trees.

In 1500 there were estimated 6 to 9 million Amazon natives. By 1900 the numbers went down to 1 million. Now the population is estimated at 250,000 Amazon natives.
