Mathematics In order to move on to the next math class, you must pass your current math class with a C or better. The following is the order of progression for math: Algebra 1 Geometry or Geometry H Algebra 2 or Algebra 2 H Trigonometry, PreCalc or PreCalc H

Science The following is the order of progression for science: Current ClassNext Year’s Class 8 th Grade SciencePhysical Science of Earth or Biology** Biology HChemistry, Chemistry H, or PSE ** In order to enroll in Biology as a 9 th grader, you must be concurrently enrolled in Geometry.

Visual and Performing Arts and Foreign Language To receive a high school diploma, you must take 1 year of a Visual and Performing Art (VPA) OR 1 year of a Foreign Language To fulfill A-G requirements for 4 year colleges, you must take 1 year of a VPA AND 2 years of a Foreign Language

Physical Education Options include: PE 9*Drill Team Beginning Dance*Pep Squad PE Band *Athletics Note: Courses with an asterisk* require coaches approval and/or tryout.

Career Technology Education All Career Technology Education classes fall under elective courses. Options include: Food Science Design & Architecture Wood 1

Zero Period Zero period classes offered include: PE Band Forensics Workshop/Debate Geometry H Biology H

Please have the following when you meet with your counselor: A completed course selection sheet (blue) signed by a parent A signed and completed Honors/AP Commitment form A signed and completed Assessing Strengths & Weaknesses for Honors/AP Class form

SCHEDULING Bert Lynn Middle School April 16 th and 17 th Jefferson Middle School April 21 st and 23 rd Private and non-feeder schools Enrollment forms are now available in the Counseling Office and on our website. Turn in completed forms to our Registrar by the end of April in order to meet with a Counselor in May. Limited appointments available in May Latecomers will meet with a counselor mid-August

Enrollment Procedures for New TUSD Students TWO CURRENT original utility bills Birth Certificate/Passport Parent Picture ID Transcripts or report cards from 8 th Grade Immunization Records Student/Parent will be scheduled to meet with a Counselor in May to select courses
