1 Food – what do we eat? The United Kingdom is a multi-ethnic society and we have always eaten a wide variety of food in this country. Some of it is traditional e.g. sausage and mash, roast beef and yorkshire pudding but much of what we eat originates in other countries. Can you recognise the following dishes?... Here is a selection of dishes – can you guess what is in them, whether they are sweet or spicy and what country they originally came from? Answers at the end!
