1. Exposition Introduces the setting and important characters
Sets up or hints at the conflict

2. Rising Action Conflict, or struggle, is developed and more difficult Builds suspense

3. Climax The most exciting part and turning point of the story.
Usually the main character comes face to face with a conflict.

4. Falling Action Eases the tension
Shows how the character revolves the conflict

5. Resolution Reveals how everything works out
Sometimes ends with a twist!
