Last third of class fractions –expl.5.8, 5.9, multiplying fractions handout decimals –5.16 (really just talked about) proportional reasoning –expl 6.4, 6.6 pt 1 #1, 2 (most of you didn't cover, but it's easy) GCF/LCM –handout --> make sure you understand how to use prime factorization to find these

Final Exam 125 point, basically cummulative –test 1 material ~ 20 points –test 2 material ~ 20 points –test 3 material ~ 50 points –multiple choice ~ the rest on all material no too difficult partial credit in part, serves as practice for comptenecy exams

hay, cows, and weeks two things that make this tricky... –nature of how # cows relates to # weeks any other things in our life relate this way? –4's / 3's to 6's / __'s not 'easy' relationships many possible ways at arriving at the relationship between # weeks, and # cows. –y = # weeks, x = # cows –want to express relationship: y = “function of x”

hay, cows, and weeks let's make a table and/or diagram of “easy numbers”: – # cows #weeks 43 6__?

the general relationship remember: –our formula for y in terms of x has to work for every pair on the last slide. –use those pairs to make predictions and test. some questions: –how much hay is there? --> 12 “units” –more cows --> less time, could y = 4/3x or 3/4x or 12x be possible?
