2. Early Life
Theodore Roosevelt was born October 27, in New York City, New York in 1858.Theodore’s dad was a businessman. Theodore had an older sister named Anna, a younger brother named Elliott, and an older sister named Corinne. He was really sick as a kid but became very strong.

3. “Life Before President”
Theodore Roosevelt attended Harvard College. He got married to Alice Hathaway. They had a daughter. In 1884 Alice died. In 1886 Theodore married Edith Kermit Carow. They had 5 kids. In 1897 President William McKinley made Theodore assistant secretary of the navy during the Spanish-American war.

4. Being President
In 1900 he became Vice President under President McKinley. McKinley died on September 14,1901. So Roosevelt was next in line and became president. He won the election to go a full term in He became 26th president. He won the Nobel Peace Prize in His party was Republican.

5. Later Years
After leaving office in 1909 he decided to run for president again in He ended losing to democrat William Howard Taft. Roosevelt then went to Brazil to publish his autobiography. He died in 1919 at age 61.
