European Organization for Nuclear Research - Organisation européenne pour la recherche nucléaire Path between the Globe and the AVC - PROJECT - - PROJECT - Juliette Davenne – 12 mai 2011
2
Needs: Have a nice path between the Globe and the AVC. For the moment, nothing interesting for the visitors on this path, except the mural painting Due to safety reasons, a fence has been installed, in order to close the public area (as a consequence, visitors can only see the mural by far) We really need to display real objects - Visitors (guides also) want to see real scientific items.
3
Objectives Offer a nice promenade to visitors, as a continuity of the Globe garden Use natural materials and solar energy Design of the project phase by phase - each phase should exist alone for a while Conceive something robust, simple and autonome Protect the detector parts/visitors from rain and snow Target group visitors or individuals (when possibility of a free discovery of the AVC with the Globe exhibition)
4
Proposal (draft)
5
The collision point Creation of an event (sound, lights, in order th create something amazing and fun for the visitors) – The idea is to let him understand that his energy was enough to create an interesting collision. Option : the visitor (or the deputy of a group) could register at the collision point – he’s no more a proton but becomes another particle, as a muon for example (just an idea for the moment) –
6
The pavillon Designed as a slice of the detector Each sub-detector is materialized in a separate space, with big photos (immersion of the visitor) and real parts of detectors + explanation of how the sub- detector works Option: The interaction of the visitor with subdetectors is different following his new identity
7
Passeport Big Bang.
