HEPIX - HEPNT, 1 Nov. 2000 Milos Lokajicek, IP AS CR, Prague6 Computing Independent smaller HEP groups - share university/institutes infrastructure with local HEP installation Research Centre for Particle Physics and Elementary particle physics department of IP - 40 physicists –basic unix/linux infrastructure available (servers, users’ home directories, automatic back-up/restore service, project disk space, CERN ASIS software, hepix scripts, b/w and color printing, exchange DLT units,...), end 2000 new 1TB file server upgrade user access via PCs with X-emulation (Exceed) Main platforms –unix - HP, SUN, DEC, SGi, growing linux (young generation and production), W95/98/NT/2000 independent nodes
