4.  Part of speech: noun  Definition: sympathy, helpfulness or mercy  Sentences: She showed her compassion when she took the injured cat home and kept it comfortable until it died.  Note the suffix ion meaning “act, result, or state of.”

5.  Part of speech: adjective  Definition: careful and hard-working  Sentence: Due to his diligent work, the business grew from a single shop to a national chain over 35 states.

6.  Part of speech: noun  Definition: irritation, frustration  Sentence: My exasperation with my secretary grew each time she forgot to ask for a caller’s phone number – I finally had to fire her.  Note the prefix ex meaning out, and the suffix “ate” meaning having or showing.
