Ptolemy heliocentric Due to the failure of Ptolemy's model of the universe, Copernicus decided that he could achieve his goal only through a heliocentric model. My contention is that you know NOTHING! Until you research it, study it, understand it… How easily can one be manipulated if you only go by what you have been told? Is the world really spherical or flat? Prove it… Is the sun really the center of our galaxy? Prove it… Social Studies Class: How did you feel when you were confronted with ideas that went against everything you have ever been taught? Did you want to react as they did against Galileo? Or were you willing to just sit and take notes to get an “A” on the test?
