3 Definitions Scale Drawing or Scale Model- is used to represent an object too large or too small to be drawn or built at actual size. Scale- is determined by the ratio of a given length on a drawing or model to its corresponding actual length.

The distance from Bingston to Alanton is 1.5 inches on a map. Find the actual distance if the scale on the map is 1 inch = 5 miles. Find the scale factor for the map.

A wall in a room is 15 feet long. On a scale drawing it is shown as 6 inches. What is the scale of the drawing?
