©2007 GS1 US ©2008 GS1 in Europe Project Overview The Fruit & Vegetable sector has made a clear decision to adopt the GS1 Standards to improve the efficiency of the supply chain. The Fruit & Vegetable business is not a national, but a global business with suppliers from all parts of the world, which need to make efficient trade. There is a need to build a common European framework to ensure alignment in the implementation of GS1 Standards and avoid divergences in the deployment of the GS1 System: Common European platform to gather and share European requirements One European voice in global standardisation and coordination. Participation of industry (Producer, supplier, retailer) and associations (GS1, Frug I Com, IFPS etc.). Common implementation guidelines across Europe.

The main objective of the project 2013 will be: Product identification Master data alignment Company and party identification

Providing a unique solution with GS1 Global Standards will decrease the period and costs of implementation. Build a more efficient supply chain: Category Management Inventory accuracy Perfect orders Waste prevention
