Chinese Names Chinese names are composed of two parts: the surname and the give name, and the surname comes before the give name. That means, if your name is “Calvin Lawrence”, the correct order in Chinese should be “Lawrence Calvin”. Besides, most Chinese names have special and good meanings. Girls’ name usually contain some meanings of beautiful things, for example Mei - beautiful, Zhen - precious, Li – beautiful, Feng, phoenix, Yu = jade, et., while boys’ names have meanings of grand things and generosity, such as Hai – sea, Shan – mountain, Wei – great, Long – dragon, etc. The given name is usually composed of one or two Chinese characters.
