Family of Nations Cultural Approach Anglo-American family – greater tendency to emphasize the role of the individual (US,UK, Australia, Canada, NZ, Ireland) German family – deeply rooted federalist approach to politics whereby collective public policies are more of a possibility (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) Latin family – historical tradition of support for powerful central gov’t & accompanying social services (France, Greece, Italy, Spain, Portugal) Scandinavian family – more collectivist in social norms (Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Sweden)
