2. LAN Card It is physical interface between network cable and network computer. It is used to connect the computer to the network cable. Switch/Hub: A device which is used to interconnect network computers on the star topology network. Switch is more faster than hub.

3. MODEM It is device which is used to connect the computer the telephone line. The purpose of MODEM is to convert digital signals to analogue and vice versa.

4. Router It is device which is used to perform the following functions on the network -To solve the problem of network traffic due to increased population of computer -For Sub netting on LAN/Network segmentation -Traffic filtering -Internetworking (Innetnet)

5. Multiplexer It is device on the network used to send the data from different sources through a single line at the same time. Repeater: It is network device which is used to regenerate the network signals when they become week due to increased length of cable.

6. Bridge: It is a network device used to connect more than one LANs using dissimilar network media with different network speeds.
