This is a square, how do we find the perimeter?. The square is 6cm in length and 6cm in width.

To find out the perimeter you need to add twice the width and twice the length together. With 2 times the width and 2 times the length is added together we have finally worked out the perimeter. Always remember to put cm at the end of your answer. 6cmx2 = 12cm 12cmx2 = 24cm P=24cm

This is a rectangle, how do we find the area?. The rectangle is 5cm in width and 10cm in length.

To find out the area you need to times the length by the width. With 10 times 5 worked out you have finally found out the area. Remember to put cm 2 at the end of the answer. 5cmx10cm = 50cm 2 A=50cm 2
