3 Product Selection About two years ago started investigating 3rd party reporting solutions Business area leaders attended the Midwest User Group, Oracle Open World and Quest Collaborate Reporting tool vendors were identified Demos were observed and evaluated Much discussion took place and the focus of the search was divided among business area leaders

4 Product Selection (Continued) Functional power users focused on: The ad-hoc inquiry capabilities Ease of use Flexibility Intuitiveness Consistent look and feel that compliments JDE The GL Company’s Really Real Time Inquiry Suite software was singled out to be the most viable solution to enhance reporting

5 Product Evaluation Completed a two week trial of the Inquiry Suite: Accounts Payable, General Ledger and Procurement modules On site with our own JDE data Analyzed aged integrity issues from 1999 & 2000 and were resolved in a matter of a few hours during the trial Prepared reports listing outstanding items for year-end review (journal entries, open commitments, payments, etc.)

6 Product Evaluation (Continued) Developed auditor reports that were provided by IT prior to using the Inquiry Suite Numerous inquiries and reports were created as useful financial decision making tools Summarized information with condensed data for high level overviews for departments, divisions & programs Provided detailed information for managers & supervisors to assist in identifying issues and celebrating successes

7 Decision and Implementation Unanimous recommendation to purchase Accounts Payable, General Ledger & Procurement Retained all reports created during the trial Continued to use the Inquiry Suite for year-end & the audit Trained power users over 3 days and on day four held an interactive workshop with the trainer
