The Painting The story begins with my great grandparents. My great grandfather worked in the oil industry and was a lawyer. With these occupancies his family became wealthy. His wife enjoyed art shows and would frequently go to europe to buy art. One of the times she went, she bought a very old painting of man named Oliver Cromwell. The painting itself was painted in 1655, meaning to this day it is 358 years old. The painting has since been passed down my family until is has reached my father and is still in a quite good condition. Although there is some paint decay it is amazingly in good condition compared to it not being properly preserved till now.
