7 Page 7 Timeline First we concentrate on the development of Ecolabel criteria Then we’ll take existing GPP criteria as starting point, and see how they need to be adapted in the light of the new Ecolabel criteria. GPP will be mainly CELMA task (Peter Thorns, Head of Strategic Lighting Applications/Thorn Lighting Ltd will officially join the project team and Steering Committee)

8 Page 8 Timeline March 2013 deadline to present the revised criteria to the June regulatory committee to be adopted (Final criteria + Technical background report + Preliminary report) feedback 2 nd AHWG 2 nd AHWG on January 2013 – 2 following days – one Ecolabel, one GPP) draft final criteria + technical background report updated feedback 1 st AHWG 1 st AHWG on September 2012 – 1 day for both Ecolabel and GPP) 1 st criteria proposal + technical background report + working document publish preliminary report (June 2012)

9 Page 9 Timeline Before June 2012 (preliminary report): Scoping document (Task 1, on-going): will be published on the website end of March 2012 Market analysis (Task 2, on-going - questionnaire not necessary: team members provide data) Technical analysis + environmental assessment; improvement potential + BAT + LCC+ LCA (Task 3 to be started end of March) LCA: will fill in the gaps where necessary Submitted to external quality assessment Sensitivity analysis and policy impact (Task 4, to be started)

10 Page 10 Open questions and further clarification Ecolabel fees - Business case Company A has an energy saving product whit 5 different wattages (to replace 25 to 100 watt GLS) with 2 different lamp caps (E 27 and B22), two different voltages (220 and 240), two different colours (warmwhite and cool daylight) = 40 types x 1.500 (German example)= 60.000 euros x year x product Market Surveillance Companies and consumers have to be reassured on the effective protection of the label against infringement
