Fractions can only be added or subtracted if they have the same denominator.

To multiply fractions, multiply the numerators together and the denominatiors together – then simplify if possible
Example: Calculate

4. Dividing
To divide a fraction multiply by the reciprocal of the second fraction.
Example: Calculate

2e x 5 d
Multiply by reciprocal
= 10e
