PBIS Focus Includes both individual behavior and school wide discipline Proven more effective than punitive discipline strategies (we’re teaching and reinforcing positives)

School Wide Practices Define- Above the Line Expectations Post and refer to frequently Teach/ Precorrect- Direct Instruction (Teach-To’s) -In the Moment Reminders Model- Adults practice what we preach Practice- Kids practice what we teach Acknowledge- Daily Recognition Weekly/ Quarterly/ Grade Level/ Whole School Celebrations Reteach- Classroom procedure for minor problem behaviors - Office referrals for major problem behaviors

PBIS School Teams… Guide the development and implementation of PBIS strategies Help to develop school wide positive incentives, programs and/or goals Collect and analyze behavioral data Patrick Marsh’s PBIS team is representative of school staff including teachers, administrators, student services, and support staff.

PBIS Levels of Intervention
Tier 1 (Counselor)- First level of intervention involves preliminary behavior modification programs such as a Positive Reinforcement System and Universal Strategies. Tier 2 (Psychologist)- Targeted intervention for students requiring a higher level of support including small groups or individual sessions. Explain what each thing listed is… Tier 3 (Social Worker)- Wrap around services, Mental health and skill based groups, individual sessions

Data Management PBIS Team reviews data monthly to make data-based decisions regarding behavior Office referral forms Fix-its – Written and Verbal Attendance Staff Surveys and feedback
