2 Abacus Definition: a frame with beads or balls used for doing arithmetic. Sentence: “Use the abacus to solve the following math equation.”

3 Adjunct Definition: connected or attached in a secondary or subordinate way. Sentence: “The rice acts as an adjunct to the main course.”

4 Adorn Definition: ornament; to put decorations on something
Sentence: “The tree was adorned with Christmas lights.”

5 Aesthetic Definition: artistic; sensitive to art and beauty
Sentence: “The artist’s paintings lacked any aesthetic quality.”

6 Affable Definition: gentle and kindly
Sentence: “I always found him a very affable, approachable guy.”

7 Aggrandize Definition: to make seem greater
Sentence: “Clowns aggrandize balloons by turning them into animals.”

8 Anarchy Definition: the complete absence of government

20 Fallacious Definition: misleading or deceptive
Sentence: “The executives speech seemed fallacious to the informed.”

21 Genial Definition: cheerful; friendly; sympathetic
Sentence: “Her genial attitude is her greatest strength.”
