3 What is PBIS? A systems approach for establishing the social culture and behavioral supports needed for a school to be an effective learning environment for all students.

4 Main Messages PBIS deeply supports and incorporates asset building work of Project Cornerstone and character focus of Life skills Supporting social behavior is central to achieving academic gains.

8 Teach Behavioral Expectations Transform broad school-wide expectations into specific, observable behaviors Teach in the actual settings where behaviors are to occur Teach (a) the words, and (b) the actions

Supt, Director of Student Services, Coaches Training: Site Teams and Coaches—Four days at SCCOE Coaches only—Four days at SCCOE

11 PBIS in Cambrian, Year 1 Site presentations by teams to engage staff Monthly site team meetings Regular Coaches and District Leadership Team meetings Participation in Coaches Network at SCCOE Preparation for August launch

12 Next Steps Plan and carry out launch in August at each site Begin use of SWIS data management system Continue three days of training next year for site teams and coaches, Tier 1 and 2 Fully establish Tier 1, begin Tier 2 Move toward sustainability
