2. Step # 1:  Look at the Manipulated Variable (MV )Data

3. Which is the MV?

4. Height ?

5. or Arm Span?

6. Step # 2  Put the data numbers in order, smallest to largest:

7. Step # 3  Find the minimum (smallest number in the set of data)  minimum

8. Step # 4  Find the maximum (largest number in the set of data)  maximum

9. Step # 5  Find the RANGE Equation:  Maximum - Minimum = RANGE This is the DISTANCE from (maximum) to (minimum) on the axis.

10. Step # 5 Continued  MATH! is the RANGE !!!

11. Step # 6  Look at the graph paper

12. Step # 6 Continued Count the # of boxes from side to side (across or HORIZONTALLY)

13. Step # 7 Divide the RANGE by the number of boxes from step # 6 MATH!.8

14. Step # 8  Round this number (.8) up.8 ….9 … 1 !!

15. Step # 9  Each box on the X axis shows 1 X Axis 111111111111111111111111111111

16. Step # 10  Put the minimum on the first line: first Line l_l_l_l_l_l_l_l_l_l_l_l_l_l_l_l_l_l_l_l_l_l_l_l_l_l_l_l_l_l 1 minimum

17. Step # 10 Continued  Continue labelling lines  (adding 1 each time),  until you get to the maximum or the first number over the maximum l_l_l_l_l_l_l_l_l_l_l_l_l_l_l_l_l_l_l_l_l_l_l_l_l_l_l_l_l_l 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 minimum maximum
