EIPIC-Early Intervention Programme for Infants & Children

EIPIC For 0-6 years old infants & children 17 centres, 10 agencies, 2000 places Training mode: -0-18 mths: 2 hrs/wk, min 104 hrs/yr -above 18 mths: 5 hrs/wk, min 260 hrs/yr Serves 40% young children who diagnosed with Developmental Disabilities Early Childhood Special Education environment, which provides opportunities for learning alongside typically-developing children.

Purpose of EIPIC To empower young children with special needs in reaching their full potential by creating a holistic and nurturing environment that enhance independent lives through experiential education, therapy, training and support services.

Clients Profile Children with special needs from 0- 6years old and their caregivers 40% Autism Specturm Disorders 50% Global Developmental Delay 10% Multiple Disabilities Most of the clients fall under Category B(moderate – severe) or Category C (mild-moderate) of severity.

Service Delivery Specific classroom activities targeting IEP goals for teachers to carry out as part of their classroom activity /lesson plan. Classroom consultation to provide specific classroom strategies for increased participation and learning. Large/ small group therapy. 1:1 therapy sessions(4 block) to help child establish foundational skills for participating in classroom activities. Caregiver and Teacher training

Programme of EIPIC Low Student-Teacher Ratio -Ratio is 1:4 - Each class : 4 to 15 students maximum (average 8 students) -2-3 teachers according to the severity of the children ’ s disabilities. Children are grouped by ability, not disability. Program activities are designed to match those found in a typical preschool setting, and more.

Programme of EIPIC 2 or 3 hr program x 3 days a week Home based Intervention 2 hrs/wk for below 18 months clients, to minimize waiting. Large group activities(e.g. circle time, group play, snack time, PE lessons) Social Work and Therapy support services Outings and excursions.

THK Preparatory Programme (CCK) Intensive ” school readiness ” parogram for post-EIPIC preparation 4 hr x 5 days per week programme Subjects include Language, Maths, P.E. Computer, Music Movement, Social Studies, etc. Social Work and Therapy Support Services. Opportunities for the child to practice buying food from the mini school canteen.
