2 One of the most significant and efficient ways for knowledge sharing is the Open Access philosophy, because knowledge is absolutely indispensable for social evolution in a globalized world…one of today’s main goals is to build modern knowledge societies in which all persons must be able to participate information (García-Peñalvo et al. 2010 p.1)

10 The connection between the projects has allowed us to present the promotion of open knowledge as a global strategic gamble of the University, which has contributed to a greater acceptance by the teaching staff (Llorens et al. 2009 p.20)

12 It is probably the right time for the University to adopt a mandate even if it is from a moral point of view (paraphrase of “It is probably the right time for the University of Alicante to adopt a mandate model which can imply, even if it is from a moral point of view, the obligation to publish the results of academic activity in open access” Llorens et. al 2009 p.20)
