Welcome parents and family! Please sign in and check your email for accuracy. If you would like to add a second email, feel free!

A bit about me… 12 th year teaching, 7 th year in Tomball ISD Degree in Meteorology from Taught: Physics, Earth/space, Biology in TISD Previously taught engineering in a Petroleum Engineering magnet academy.

Introduction to Engineering Design (IED) We are primarily covering the design process this year. To do this, we will do projects in teams quite often. Soon we will start technical sketching and drawing. We will start using Autodesk around the beginning of November.

Materials students need for class: Engineering Notebook, provided. Pencil, pen, tape, colored pencils, ruler. That’s it. *Smart phones are helpful, but we do have work-arounds. If you have an old smartphone that works, we would love donations for class use!

Project Lead the Way LMS Students regularly log in to my.pltw.org for documents, PowerPoints (notes), rubrics, uploading work, etc. This is a helpful resource if a student misses class or loses a paper too.

Communication I send out emails periodically, typically before major grades (projects, tests). Check my Edlio site often- extra worksheets, keys, helpful websites, etc. You can subscribe to Edlio updates if you wish. (There are updates many times a week, so it can be a bit much.) goo.gl/8GZjR3

Need Help? Tutoring/help each day before (around 6:55am) and after school (until at least 4pm, usually 5pm). I can get students on late run busses Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4:30 if needed. Computer lab open to all Engineering students only. Tutoring highly suggested for anyone who earns a D, mandatory for anyone who scores an F on a major grade, has been absent and needs to be caught up, or has missing work!

Grades How to improve? -Turn work in on time and complete. -Stay orgainzed! -Complete all work after being absent.- this includes being out for school activities! -Tutorials if needed. Check online grades often, any questions? Feel free to contact me (email is best)! Blanks= not in yet (could be my doing or absence of student) Zeros= not turned in on time or in the works of doing make- up work. If grade ends in.01, it is a retake or replacement grade. (It’s my way of knowing if it was originally earned or replaced).

Got connections? If you work at a company or have contacts in a company that offers scholarships, internships, funding, or other resources we would love to hear from them and possibly partner with them. We are forming a committee that will go active next year and we need parents and companies to serve on the committee for Tomball ISD.
