2. What is Poison Ivy?
Poison Ivy is a plant that can cause a skin rash called allergic contact dermatitis upon contact
It is NOT contagious

3. Cause
Contact with an oil resin(hydrocarbon secretion) in poison ivy called urushoil
The more urushoil the person comes in contact with, the more severe the rash
Playing in a grassy woodland area

4. Signs/Symptoms Red itchy skin Swelling Warmth of an infected area
Blisters
Hives

5. Treatments/Cures/Preventions
can be treated with calamine lotion, antihistamines, or hydrocortisone cream to calm the itching and blistering
Do not scratch the infected area
Wash your clothes or any other area that has been touched
Take a shower to remove the bacteria from your skin
