The Museum of Childhood is a fun day out for the whole family. Young people can learn about the children of the past and see a fantastic range of toys and games, while adults enjoy a trip down memory lane.

Star Wars Electronic Game: Podracer The Star Wars Podracer. An electronic game is based on a space vehicle featured in the film 'The Phantom Menace'. The small silver coloured pod contains a model figure of Anakin Skywalker. The pod is attached by plastic cables to coloured power boosters. The player's controls are located in the centre underneath the view screen. The object of the game is to race through a maze which appears on the view screen by physically moving the game up and down and side to side.

Toy Story talking Woody A soft toy doll of Woody, based on a character from the animated film Toy Story and Toy Story 2. The Soft fabric body is covered with a cowboy outfit. The toy wears a shirt, jeans, vest and red neck tie. The head of the toy is plastic and has a cowboy hat. The toy holds a guitar in one of its hands. The On/Off button can be found on the back of the guitar. The outfit comes with; brown boots with spurs, a gun belt with holster and a sheriff's badge. The toy also has a voice box recording, which can be activated by pressing buttons on the guitar.

Postman Pat Machine sewn soft toy in polyester and cotton pink fabric. The eyes, glasses and mouth are printed on fabric. The feet are made of black polyester and cotton fabric. The hair is made of orange wool knotted into loops and hand sewn to head just below the hat. The toy is dressed in a blue cotton postman's uniform, consisting of a jacket with two gold buttons and Velcro fastening, trousers with blue cotton braces. A white cotton shirt is worn under the jacket with a Velcro-fastening collar with a black cotton tie. The outfit is finished off with a peaked cap made from blue stiffened cotton, with stiffened black cotton peak, yellow braid above peak.

'Star Trek' Dressing-Up outfit in original box A child's dressing up outfit. The Star Trek: Next Generation uniform is in the style of Captain Picard's outfit as worn in the television series. The toy suit comes in its original box. The maroon and black coloured shirt has a gold symbol on the collar consisting of four gold circles. The Star Trek logo is seen on right breast. As part of the costume there are black trousers with an elastic waist to be worn with the shirt.

Jean Luc Picard action figure A plastic Jean Luc Picard action figure. The toy has a bald head and wears a maroon coloured shirt, with black trousers. The Star Trek logo is on the right breast of the shirt. The figure's body is jointed for movement.

Teletubby: Laa Laa Laa Laa Teletubby made of plush yellow fabric stuffed with soft material. The face is moulded and made from a vinyl material, with closed eyelids and large ears. The toy has large 'antenna' on top of the head. In the centre of the tummy there is a rectangular 'screen' in the centre of a blue stomach of iridescent material. The feet have cotton soles with grey plastic treads.

Gromit Puppet The plush soft Gromit puppet sits on its hind legs. The eyes are coloured white and black. The toy has a felt- covered, black plastic nose and long brown ears. The arms are hollow to allow fingers to be inserted and a short brown tail.

Teletubbies number blocks Four fabric coloured toy cubes contained in a clear plastic case. The plastic is edged with cotton and has a green handle. The case has velcro fastenings at the front. Inside the case are four soft cubes all printed with pictures of animals, toys and Teletubbies. All of the cubes are numbered and the cube labelled number four contains a musical chime.
