Email the syllabus before the first day of class Start with active learning on day one Define course boundaries and relate them to respect Allow students to explore links with their prior experiences (make it about them!) Allow students to be engaged co-learners – sometimes the class takes unexpected turns Just because I am not talking doesn’t mean you are not learning!
