3.  Unlike some other subjects, not structured around distinct blocks of work on a certain topic; no ‘end of unit’ tests.  Course is about the development of skills in the areas of reading, writing, talking & listening.  Lots of cross-over between these areas; transferable skills.  On-going assessment – we try to find evidence to contribute to unit passes in all the work we look at.  Scottish Set Text at N5 and Higher. 4.  Keeping on top of workload and attending class is vital.  Adopt the mind set that ALL work counts.  Pay attention to deadlines issued for assessments and submission of key pieces of work.  Seek support quickly if you are struggling. What does this mean for pupils?
