Unlike some other subjects, not structured around distinct blocks of work on a certain topic; no ‘end of unit’ tests. Course is about the development of skills in the areas of reading, writing, talking & listening. Lots of cross-over between these areas; transferable skills. On-going assessment – we try to find evidence to contribute to unit passes in all the work we look at. Scottish Set Text at N5 and Higher. How is the course structured?

Keeping on top of workload and attending class is vital. Adopt the mind set that ALL work counts. Pay attention to deadlines issued for assessments and submission of key pieces of work. Seek support quickly if you are struggling. What does this mean for pupils?
