2  Mice live in most parts of the world.  They make nests in warm, quiet places.

3  A mouse is a small animal with soft fur, a pointed snout, round black eyes, rounded ears, and a long thin tail.  Most mice are about six to eight inches long.

4  Mice will eat almost anything, even glue and soap!  Mice scurry over to their food, put it in there cheeks, go back to their nest, and eat it.

5  The mother mouse can have babies at any time of year.  There are usually about five or six mice each litter.  There are about 5 to 10 litters each year, and mice can have litters every 20 to 30 days.  The mother takes care of its young.

6  Mice have enemies such as people and most meat-eating animals. Cats are best known for mice enemies.

7  Mice are usually brownish-gray or white with a light under coat.  Mice can be house pets, too.  “Mouse” is a common word for many small long-tailed animals with furry bodies.  Mice come in many different species.
