Mice live in most parts of the world. They make nests in warm, quiet places.

A mouse is a small animal with soft fur, a pointed snout, round black eyes, rounded ears, and a long thin tail. Most mice are about six to eight inches long.

Mice will eat almost anything, even glue and soap! Mice scurry over to their food, put it in there cheeks, go back to their nest, and eat it.

The mother mouse can have babies at any time of year. There are usually about five or six mice each litter. There are about 5 to 10 litters each year, and mice can have litters every 20 to 30 days. The mother takes care of its young.

Mice have enemies such as people and most meat-eating animals. Cats are best known for mice enemies.

Mice are usually brownish-gray or white with a light under coat. Mice can be house pets, too. “Mouse” is a common word for many small long-tailed animals with furry bodies. Mice come in many different species.
