The Civil Works Administration started on November 8, 1933 when President Franklin D. Roosevelt passed it.

The CWA constructed jobs, mostly improving and constructing buildings and bridges.

The people who participated in the CWA were pretty much Americans who didn’t have jobs and needed some.

People would shovel snow, rake leaves, and clean up national parks. They also laid down 12 million feet of sewer pipe, built 255,000 miles of road, 40,000 schools, 3,700 playgrounds, and almost 1,000 airports.

The Civil Works Administration was very affective. It gave more then 4 million Americans jobs.

No the CWA is not in use anymore. It ended in March of 1934. It spent over a billion dollars in 5 months. The CWA just used too much money.
