3 Plane Mirrors  A plane mirror is a flat mirror.  Reverse images from left to right  Image appears that same distance from the front of the mirror to the back to the mirror  Image in the mirror is called a virtual image.

5 Concave Mirrors  Mirrors that curve inward.  Images will be upside down  Also images can be real or virtual depending on how the light rays are passed through the focal point  Used in headlights and flashlights

7 Convex Mirrors  Mirrors that curve outward  Images are right side up  Images are all virtual.  Used in side mirrors on cars and as security mirrors in businesses

8 Convex Mirrors

9 A little more about mirrors and lens  Convex mirrors and concave lens cause light rays to spread out.  Convex lens are thick in the middle.

12 Rods and Cones  Rods and cones are special cells that process light.  Rods allow us to see black, white, and shades of gray  Cones are red, blue, and green.
