Week set: w.c 6.10.14  Continue with revision of AS research methods  Read “Is it really possible to be objective in psychology” and highlight the key points (link on website under Teacher page – Kelly – your block letter)  Complete questions on pg 1 in R.M pack  Read and complete pgs 8&9 (sampling) in R.M pack and prepare for test on this.

7. Week set: w.c 13.10.14  Revise ethics and complete pg’s 15&16  Read definition of a quasi experiment (pg6), then find an example of a quasi experiment used in psychology and explain why this is a quasi experiment.  Look up advantages & disadvantages of quasi experiments & complete the last 2 questions on pg 6 in R.M pack.

Go onto the VLE and listen to the two powerpoint presentations for ‘Evolutionary explanations of gender roles’ and complete pages in your biological and evolutionary explanations of gender pack. 2. Read the AO1 for the biosocial approach to gender development (pg5), then complete the activities on pg7-9

Week set: 8.12.14  Continue with flashcards (or alternative) for Gender.  Continue to recap AS research methods  Practice writing essay questions for AO1/description (‘Outline’) for two of the gender topics under timed conditions (10mins)  E.g. Outline the gender schema theory of gender development

15. Homework for over Christmas  Prepare for timed gender essay (2 ) – ‘Describe and evaluate the gender schema theory of gender development’ (8 marks + 16 marks)  Anomalistic reading h/w 1 (now on psych205.com – under ‘more’ tab)  Complete the research methods exam questions on page 13 in the inferential stats pack.  Revision of topics covered so far – Aggression, Gender and Research methods

During a public demonstration of 'psychic powers', a psychologist witnessed what appeared to be the ability of one person to read the thoughts of another. Explain how the psychologist could use the Ganzfeld procedure to investigate this apparent ability.(6 marks) 3. Outline one methodological issue with the investigation of ESP (2 marks)
