There are two main triangles used in Trigonometry 45-45-90 30-60-90 Triangles

To find out the lengths of the sides, each side has a variable. The Hypotenuse is equal to “a square root of 2” The legs are equal to “a” 45-45-90

The hypotenuse is equal to “2a” The leg across from 60 degrees equal to “a square root of 3” The leg across from 3o degrees is equal to “a” 30-60-90

To find the angles of the triangles, use soh cah toa Soh: sin(opposite/hypotenuse) Cah: cos(adjacent/hypotenuse) Toa: tan(opposite/adjacent) Soh Cah Toa

Another method to find the length of sides is the Pythagorean theorem. The sides are labeled a, b, and c The equation is a^2+b^2=c^2 Pythagorean Theorem
