3  There are two main triangles used in Trigonometry  45-45-90  30-60-90 Triangles

4  To find out the lengths of the sides, each side has a variable.  The Hypotenuse is equal to “a square root of 2”  The legs are equal to “a” 45-45-90

5  The hypotenuse is equal to “2a”  The leg across from 60 degrees equal to “a square root of 3”  The leg across from 3o degrees is equal to “a” 30-60-90

6  To find the angles of the triangles, use soh cah toa  Soh: sin(opposite/hypotenuse)  Cah: cos(adjacent/hypotenuse)  Toa: tan(opposite/adjacent) Soh Cah Toa

7  Another method to find the length of sides is the Pythagorean theorem.  The sides are labeled a, b, and c  The equation is a^2+b^2=c^2 Pythagorean Theorem
