Protein Synthesis Foldable
AHSGE STD 8.

Outside DNA Replication Transcription Translation

DNA Replication- (definition) Base Pairs DNA Labeling- (draw a structure and label the parts) Final Product- (what do you get when you make a copy of DNA?) Translation- (definition) Start codon rRNA- tRNA Location- (where does translation happen?) Final Product- (what do you get at the end of translation? Transcription- (definition) Base Pairs- mRNA- (what is it?) Location- (where does transcription happen?) Final Product- (what do you get at the end of transcription?)

DNA Replication- When DNA makes a copy of itself in order to be passed along on chromosomes during cell division. Base Pairs- Adenine Thymine Cytosine Guanine DNA Labeling- (draw a structure and label the parts) Final Product- DNA Double Helices. Translation- RNA to the amino acid to proteins. Start codon – has 3 bases paired with a tRNA anticodon. (AUG) rRNA- are the ribosome's that carry out translation. tRNA- molecules that decode the sequence of bases in mRNA into the amino acid sequence of a protein. Location- cytoplasm Final Product- Protein Transcription- Copying DNA to RNA Base Pairs- DNA with RNA. (No T’s) mRNA- Carries the code for an amino acid, every three bases is called a codon. Location- occurs in the nucleus Final Product- mRNA molecule
