AMDA, Automated Multi-Dataset Analysis: A web-based service provided by the CDPP usable for THEMIS data exploitation. THEMIS SWT, Boulder March 23-25, 2009
2
The CDPP (http://cdpp.cesr.fr) French national centre (CNRS-CNES) > 10 years Hosted at CESR, Toulouse, France Missions: -Archiving the data for long-term preservation -Valorisation of the data ·Making data easy to use ·Providing tools and services -Participation to Virtual Observatories
3
Databases used by AMDA CDAWEB (at Goddard) CASSINI MAPSKP (at CESR) SKR (at LESIA) THEMIS (at CDPP/CESR) VEX-MAG (at IWF/Graz) CAADARTSVxOs Others AMDA LOCAL DATABASE Collaboration in EUROPLANET Plasma Node (CDPP, IWF, CESR, LESIA)

AMDA Automated Mutiple Dataset Analysis Prototype Web based service Transparent (automated) access to data the user plays with parameters, not with files Produces and exploits time-tables and catalogues Visualisation editor Parameter editor Download data Visual search External data Conditional search Time-Table manager AMDA DOES NOT WORK FULLY WITH InternetExplorer and Safari AMDA is public (http://cdpp-amda.cesr.fr),http://cdpp-amda.cesr.fr for either registred or guest users !

(Broussillon et al.) Detection of the magnetopause U = 1000 Building parameters: Conditional search: 8 < R < 17 R E U > 250 km/s Parameter computation Conditional search

An application for bow shock studies? Characterising the stationarity/unstationarity of the bow shock? Searching (1)shock crossing events with THEMIS (2)when the interplanetary medium is in “stationary conditions”, i.e. (a)the SW speed is constant or slowly varying (b) the IMF orientation is constant or slowly varying Performing case studies and/or statistical and/or systematic studies of these events
9
“Stationary interplanetary medium” ? Building parameters: Conditional search: V < 0.05 AND XY < 0.01 AND XZ < 0.01 AND YZ < 0.01 Time-Table TT1

Building parameters: Conditional search: Shock detection with THEMIS B > 5.10 -7 AND V > 5.10 -7 AND R > 10 R E Time-Table TT2 Managing time-tables: TT1_2 = TT1 extended by 30 min and shifted by 45 min Intersection TT3 = TT2 TT1_2 TT3: Time-Table of potential “Shock crossings during quiet interplanetary conditions”

SUMMARY AMDA is a “operational prototype” for integrated multi-dataset analysis: Comparison of data from several instruments/missions and coming from several sources Automated or visual search of specific events or features in the content of the data (see O. LeContel poster) Statistical/systematic studies AMDA is in continuously evolution There still are bugs The interface need improvements New functionalities in perspective (catalogues, propagation tool, …) Need of user return AMDA is a public service funded by CNRS and CNES If you use it, please acknowledge in presentations/publications
